Key responsibilities
- Document and maintain conservation records for the museum's collections, ensuring their preservation.
- Implement conservation protocols to maintain the safety and integrity of collections.
- Work with colleagues to develop and implement strategies and protocols to ensure that the collections receive an appropriate standard of care as per international best practice.
- Assist in developing and implementing storage and environmental monitoring measures.
- Support preventive conservation efforts such as routine maintenance, periodic evaluations, and emergency planning for safeguarding collections against potential damage.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external conservation experts to support preservation projects.
- Undertake research relevant to conservation and stay informed of developments in the field.
Required profile
- MA in Conservation or a related subject, plus a diploma in Conservation (essential).
- At least 5 years of experience in museum conservation or private conservation studios (essential).
- Experience conserving mixed materials is preferred.
