Country Director – India

About the role

As Country Director, India, you will join Coinbase’s Consumer & Business International team to own the company’s overall strategy and business performance across the Indian market. You will drive cross‑functional execution to launch locally relevant initiatives that accelerate user growth and revenue while navigating a complex regulatory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own business performance in India, accountable for user growth, revenue, and long‑term market position.
• Develop and execute country strategy based on market, regulatory and competitive analysis.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives with Marketing, Business Development, Legal, Compliance and Policy to deliver India‑specific programs.
• Partner with Product, Engineering and Design to shape and launch products that meet regulatory constraints.
• Engage directly with regulators, industry bodies and policy stakeholders to shape Coinbase’s regulatory positioning.
• Build and develop a high‑performing local team and act as senior representative across regulators, partners, media and industry forums.

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience (CEO, COO, GM, Country Head or Founder) scaling a platform, e‑commerce, fintech or trading business in India for at least 5 years.
• Direct experience engaging with Indian financial regulators and policy stakeholders with measurable outcomes.
• Proven track record partnering with Product, Marketing and Business Development to launch and scale products in regulated environments.
• Deep understanding of India’s regulated financial services ecosystem, including compliance, risk, finance and treasury functions.
• Ability to lead in a remote‑first, globally matrixed organization while advocating for market‑specific needs.
