Cost Controller & Storekeeper – Restaurant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Cost Controller & Storekeeper to manage inventory and cost control for our restaurant in Muscat. The role combines financial oversight of food and beverage expenses with hands‑on storage and stock management, ensuring accuracy, compliance and optimal resource use.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse food & beverage costs, wastage and variances; prepare daily, weekly and monthly cost reports.
• Assist in menu engineering and pricing decisions through cost analysis.
• Audit purchase requisitions, receiving reports, transfers and consumption to ensure budget compliance.
• Receive, inspect and verify deliveries; label and store items in dry, cold and frozen areas.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Issue inventory items based on approved requisitions and apply FIFO principles.
• Ensure storage areas meet HACCP and food‑safety standards; alert management to slow‑moving or expiring stock.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Hospitality Management or related field (preferred).
• 2–4 years of experience in cost control, storekeeping or a similar role within the restaurant/hospitality sector.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant inventory, procurement and cost‑control processes.
• Good understanding of HACCP and food‑safety storage standards.
• Excellent organisational, numerical and communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with restaurant POS and stock‑management software (e.g., WinCloud).
• Proficiency in using accounting or inventory software tools.
• Familiarity with HACCP principles.
