Cost Accountant & Inventory Controller

About the role

The Cost Accountant & Inventory Controller will ensure accurate product costing, robust inventory governance, and reliable financial reporting for Swelore Engineering's pump business in India. Working closely with plant operations, procurement and supply‑chain teams, the role drives cost visibility, supports plant performance and guarantees compliance with group guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costing for all products, including BOM and routing structures.
• Perform cost roll‑ups, periodic revisions and analyse material, labour, overhead and production variances.
• Monitor purchase price variance (PPV) and usage variances; support new product costing, tenders and pricing decisions.
• Ensure accurate recording, valuation and reconciliation of raw materials, WIP and finished goods across ERP and physical stock.
• Track slow‑moving, non‑moving and obsolete inventory; prepare related journal entries and LCM/NRV adjustments.
• Design and oversee cycle‑count procedures, investigate discrepancies and coordinate physical verification with auditors.
• Support month‑end closing activities, provide inputs for group reporting and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Partner with operations, procurement and supply‑chain to identify cost‑reduction opportunities, drive inventory optimisation and support ERP enhancements.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in SAP and MS Office tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• High attention to detail and data accuracy.
