Corporate Controller

About the role

The Corporate Controller role sits within Shell’s Corporate Holding and Treasury (CHT) team in Chennai. It provides finance expertise across the Group’s corporate companies, supporting the Powering Progress strategy through robust accounting, reporting and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver expert technical accounting advice to project and finance teams to ensure accurate transaction reporting.
• Supervise and produce timely corporate segment reports, working closely with Group Reporting, Investor Relations and R&A.
• Review and provide functional input on Group financing proposals to support sound decision‑making.
• Maintain and enhance the control framework for risk management across corporate finance activities.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Tax, Legal and Finance Operations to align financial activities with corporate objectives.

Required profile

• Strong background in corporate finance, accounting and financial reporting within a large multinational environment.
• Demonstrated experience with technical accounting standards and governance, risk & assurance.
• Proven ability to work across multiple functions and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Experience in treasury transactions, group structuring and financing activities.
