Controlling Specialist (m/f/d)

About the role

The Controlling Specialist will act as a strategic financial advisor for senior leadership at BASF Digital Hub Hyderabad, translating business strategy into concrete financial targets and driving value creation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning.
• Deliver reliable financial information and clear presentations for management decision‑making.
• Lead automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives within the controlling team.
• Conduct cost analysis, monitoring, reporting and budgeting for the assigned business area.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes, forecasting and budget planning.
• Ensure compliance with BASF Group accounting and controlling guidelines.
• Coordinate ad‑hoc analyses, respond to management inquiries and monitor project cost accounting.
• Conduct training sessions for stakeholders to promote smooth processes and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Controlling or Accounting.
• Several years of experience in business or controlling functions.
• Strong understanding of business models, value drivers and financial steering.
• Ability to translate strategy into financial implications.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with SAP BW and SAP CO/CI.
• Competence in PowerBI for reporting and analytics.
