Controlling Specialist (m/f/d)

About the role

The Controlling Specialist will act as a strategic financial advisor and co‑pilot for senior leadership at BASF Digital Hub Hyderabad. You will translate business strategy into financial targets, provide actionable insights, and support the continuous improvement of finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver reliable financial information to support management decision‑making and strategic planning.
• Conduct cost analysis, monitoring, reporting and budgeting for the assigned business area.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes, forecasting and budget planning.
• Lead automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives within the finance team.
• Prepare and present clear financial presentations to senior management.
• Coordinate management inquiries and perform complex ad‑hoc analyses.
• Ensure compliance with BASF Group’s accounting and controlling guidelines.
• Provide training sessions for stakeholders to promote smooth processes and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Controlling or Accounting.
• Several years of experience in business or controlling functions.
• Strong understanding of business models, value drivers and financial steering.
• Ability to translate strategy into financial implications and actionable recommendations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using SAP BW.
• Experience with SAP CO/CI.
• Ability to create dashboards and reports in PowerBI.
