Controlling Specialist – Finance & Controlling

About the role

The Controlling Specialist will support the BASF Digital Hub Hyderabad by providing cost analysis, budgeting and financial reporting for assigned business areas. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and other stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that drive strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cost analysis, monitoring, reporting and budgeting for assigned business areas.
• Prepare and present financial information to support management decision‑making and strategic planning.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes, forecasting and budget planning.
• Lead automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives within the controlling team.
• Monitor project cost accounting and ensure accurate tracking.
• Coordinate ad‑hoc analyses and respond to management inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with BASF Group accounting and controlling guidelines.
• Deliver training sessions to stakeholders to promote smooth processes and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Controlling or Accounting.
• Several years of relevant experience in business or controlling functions preferred.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• High service orientation, proactive mindset and continuous‑improvement attitude.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
