Controller / Manager – NetSuite (Hyderabad)

About the role

The Controller will lead end‑to‑end accounting activities for an operational consulting business, ensuring accurate financial tracking, timely billing, and reliable reporting. The role works closely with operations and consulting teams and reports to the US‑based CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and bank reconciliations.
• Post journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments during period‑end closing.
• Prepare client invoices for various project models and validate billable hours with consulting and operations teams.
• Track receivables, follow up on overdue payments, and produce ageing reports.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes and produce MIS, profitability, and variance analysis reports.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance tracking.
• Process vendor invoices, consultant payments, employee reimbursements, and payroll coordination.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Ensure statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance with external consultants as needed.
• Participate in ERP implementation or migration projects, focusing on NetSuite.

Required profile

• 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in services, consulting, or project‑based environments.
• B.Com, M.Com or MBA in Finance (or related field).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, invoicing, receivables tracking, and reconciliations.
• Mandatory exposure to payroll processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with the US‑based CFO and internal stakeholders.
• High ownership, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
