Controller / Manager (NetSuite) – Hyderabad

About the role

The Controller will lead end‑to‑end accounting activities for an operational consulting business, ensuring accurate financial tracking, timely invoicing, and reliable reporting. The role works closely with operations and consulting teams and reports to the US‑based CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Post journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments during period‑end closing.
• Prepare client invoices for various project models and validate billable hours with consulting and operations teams.
• Track receivables, follow up on outstanding payments, and produce ageing reports.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closes and prepare MIS, management, and project profitability reports.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Process vendor invoices, consultant payments, employee reimbursements and payroll coordination.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Ensure statutory, tax and regulatory compliance with external consultants as needed.
• Participate in ERP implementation or migration projects, focusing on NetSuite.

Required profile

• B.Com, M.Com or MBA in Finance (or equivalent).
• 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in services/consulting or project‑based environments.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, invoicing, receivables tracking and reconciliations.
• Mandatory exposure to payroll processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with the US‑based CFO and internal stakeholders.
• High ownership, attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

• NetSuite (ERP) implementation and daily usage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
