Control Engineer – Industrial Automation

About the role

Act as the pivotal, hands‑on technical authority driving performance and standardisation of Armstrong Fluid Technology’s control solutions. The role bridges continuous innovation and regional execution, requiring practical expertise in industrial automation – PLCs, HMIs and robust network protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Drive continuous standardisation of optimisation products across India and APAC, collaborating with global product development.
• Provide pre‑sales engineering support, answering complex technical inquiries and validating automation architectures.
• Deliver rapid, hands‑on diagnostic support for regional service teams to reduce mean time to resolution.
• Develop, program and troubleshoot automation architectures using PLCs, HMIs and industrial network protocols.
• Support implementation of advanced control features, coordinate changes to control logic, firmware and network configurations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, control systems, automation engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in control systems engineering, industrial automation or a related discipline.
• Proven experience with Carel and JACE PLC platforms and system integration.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP and BACnet.

Required skills

• PLC programming (Ladder logic, Functional Block, Structured Text).
• HMI design and development.
• Industrial networking and communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, BACnet).
• Control logic design, troubleshooting and optimisation.
• Network troubleshooting and configuration.
• Experience with HVAC control applications (asset).
