Continental Chef – Full‑time at Café Vishala

About the role

Cafe Vishala is seeking a full‑time Continental Chef to join its kitchen team in Bengaluru. You will be responsible for creating a range of continental starters, mains and desserts that meet the café’s high standards for taste, presentation and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and plate continental dishes, including sauces, baked items and desserts.
• Execute the menu daily, ensuring consistent taste, portion sizes and visual appeal.
• Monitor inventory levels, store ingredients properly and manage stock rotation.
• Collaborate with the kitchen crew during peak service periods to maintain smooth production.
• Uphold strict hygiene and food‑safety standards throughout all operations.
• Support menu innovation and introduce new continental offerings.
• Communicate professionally with service staff to guarantee a seamless guest experience.

Required profile

• Proficiency in continental cuisine, covering sauces, mains, baked items and desserts.
• Strong food‑preparation, cooking and plating techniques with attention to detail.
• Solid knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food‑safety regulations and proper storage practices.
• Experience managing kitchen operations such as mise en place, inventory checks and coordination during busy hours.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment and manage time effectively.
• Prior experience as a Continental Chef or in a similar role; café or casual‑dining background is a plus.
• Culinary certification or formal training in hotel management or culinary arts is beneficial.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
