About the role

BuzzFeed’s India team is seeking curious, internet‑savvy writers to create engaging, shareable stories for a US audience. You will turn trending moments into compelling listicles, quizzes, and feature articles that capture readers’ attention.

Key responsibilities

• Pitch and write listicles, quizzes, and feature stories across pop culture, entertainment, and lifestyle for the US audience.
• Transform trending conversations and niche topics into high‑performing content.
• Collaborate with editors to refine content, optimise headlines, and package stories for maximum impact.
• Own ideas from pitch through publication and iterate based on editorial feedback and performance data.
• Identify great story opportunities before they become mainstream.

Required profile

• Creative, versatile writer with 1–3 years of experience in content, editorial, or journalism (freshers with strong potential considered).
• Excellent written English and strong grasp of grammar.
• Genuine curiosity about internet and pop culture and why content goes viral.
• Strong research skills, attention to detail, and ability to craft compelling headlines and hooks.
• Organised, deadline‑driven, able to juggle multiple stories simultaneously.
• Self‑starter who works independently and learns from data and feedback.
• Based in India and comfortable using CMS tools.

What we offer

• Monthly salary of 45,000 INR.
• Full‑time 40‑hour‑per‑week contract for an initial three‑month period with potential extension up to a year.
