Construction Manager – Mechanical & MEP Projects

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead mechanical and MEP works on site. You will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day construction activities for mechanical and MEP works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Supervise installation of HVAC systems, utility piping, firefighting systems and mechanical equipment such as chillers, AHUs, compressors and pumps.
• Coordinate sequencing with civil, electrical and instrumentation trades to avoid conflicts.
• Monitor site productivity, identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors and vendors, reviewing performance, supporting billing certification and handling change orders.
• Work with planning engineers to track progress against baseline schedules and develop look‑ahead plans.
• Conduct regular quality inspections, material testing and non‑conformance closure.
• Enforce EHS policies, monitor permit‑to‑work compliance and promote a zero‑harm safety culture.
• Serve as primary site contact for client, consultants and internal teams, leading progress meetings and providing updates to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing mechanical and MEP construction projects on site.
• Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with civil, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Demonstrated competence in contractor and vendor management, including performance monitoring and change‑order handling.
• Solid understanding of project scheduling, progress monitoring and risk mitigation.
• Commitment to quality assurance, safety standards and regulatory compliance.
