Configuration Management Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is looking for a Configuration Management Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex configurable material models within its SAP environment. The role supports the development of semiconductor and advanced display equipment by ensuring accurate variant configuration and seamless integration across functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain VC (variant configuration) models and IPC in CRM.
• Configure and write dependency rules for complex configurable materials with cross‑functional integration.
• Manage all aspects of variant configuration product models, including classes, characteristics, configuration profiles, tables, pricing, functions, dependency nets, BOM class nodes, pre‑conditions, selection conditions, procedures, and super‑bills of material.
• Update ECM and Knowledge Base content and manage production releases between SAP environments (ALE).
• Collaborate closely with business subject‑matter experts to follow modeling styles and templates without deviation.
• Understand integration points between SAP modules such as Material Management, Sales and Distribution, and Production Planning.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills to work directly with business SMEs and follow defined modeling standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time and relocate if required.
