Community Affairs Manager

About the role

Microsoft’s Datacenter Community Affairs team is seeking a Community Affairs Manager to shape and execute community engagement strategies for datacenter sites across India. The role bridges Microsoft with local communities, government stakeholders, and internal teams to manage social impact, mitigate risks, and create sustainable community investments.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between Microsoft datacenters and surrounding communities.
• Represent Microsoft in community and government engagements, reinforcing trust and partnership.
• Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research (e.g., listening sessions, surveys) to translate community insights into actionable plans.
• Develop location‑specific community strategies, communication plans, and social impact investment initiatives.
• Lead strategic engagements with municipal leaders, NGOs, and other community groups.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Land Development, Construction, Engineering, Government Affairs, and Operations—to align community initiatives with business objectives.
• Provide corrective and preventive recommendations based on research findings and coordinate their implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience in communications, research, corporate social responsibility, and community engagement.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Demonstrated skill in building relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
