Commis I – Western (Entry‑Level Kitchen Position)

About the role

Accor is looking for an enthusiastic Commis I – Western to join its culinary team in Lucknow. This entry‑level position supports the preparation and cooking of Western cuisine dishes while gaining hands‑on experience in a professional hotel kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in washing, peeling, chopping, and preparing vegetables and fruits for Western menu items.
• Support senior chefs with cooking, plating, and presentation of Western dishes.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow food safety and hygiene standards.
• Learn and apply basic Western cooking techniques under the guidance of experienced chefs.
• Store and label ingredients and prepared foods correctly.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations.
• Help with inventory checks and restocking of supplies.
• Adapt Western recipes using locally available ingredients.
• Participate in daily kitchen briefings and suggest menu improvements.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.

Required profile

• HM diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred.
• 2‑3 years of experience in hotel catering sales.
• Basic knife skills and knowledge of Western cooking techniques.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Basic familiarity with kitchen equipment and its proper use.
