About the role

The Commercial Finance Specialist is responsible for evaluating credit and collections applications, managing a complex portfolio of commercial accounts, and driving process improvements in accounts receivable. The role works closely with sales, finance, and risk teams to ensure timely order releases and effective credit risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate moderately complex credit and collections applications by gathering and analyzing financial data to support decision‑making.
• Guide subordinates in completing assignments while adhering to established policies and procedures.
• Manage a large portfolio of commercial accounts, delivering tailored financing solutions and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Contact clients with past‑due balances to secure payments, follow up on commitments, and coordinate with third‑party collectors.
• Oversee accounts receivable lean process improvements, ensuring high master‑data quality and operational efficiency.
• Analyze receivables for proper valuation, including adjustments for doubtful accounts.
• Validate customer creditworthiness using Philips scoring methodology, credit checks, and contract reviews to set appropriate credit limits.
• Secure credit decisions such as credit insurance, letters of credit, and guarantee management to mitigate risk.
• Ensure timely release of blocked sales orders and present credit risk assessments in committee meetings.
• Report disputed or short‑paid invoices and collaborate with internal teams to expedite resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent; CA/CMA/MBA qualification mandatory.
• Minimum five years of progressive finance experience, including at least three years in commercial finance.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) status.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders outside the finance domain.
