Cluster Manager – Insurance Business Development

About the role

The Cluster Manager will be responsible for driving Birla Sun Life Insurance business through the HDFC Bank branch network in Bangalore. The role focuses on acquiring new insurance business, ensuring high persistency, and delivering a seamless pre‑ and post‑sale experience for both the bank’s relationship managers and their customers.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve individual premium and revenue targets, contributing to the overall growth of the company.
• Maintain continuous interaction with multiple HDFC branch heads and map key decision‑makers within each branch.
• Share relevant information with Relationship Heads and Zone Heads to ensure alignment across the channel.
• Design and execute innovative branch activities to increase customer penetration and insurance sales.
• Coordinate sales processes, including sales calls, policy issuance, and complaint handling, ensuring no operational blocks.
• Communicate process changes and regulatory updates through training modules.
• Maintain a customer complaint rate of zero and achieve at least 80% premium persistency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in insurance sales or business development, preferably within a banking channel.
• Strong relationship‑management skills with the ability to influence senior bank officials.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding premium targets and maintaining high persistency rates.
• Ability to navigate market volatility and align bank priorities with insurance objectives.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
