Cloud Governance Engineer (Hybrid, India)

About the role

Five9 is looking for a Cloud Governance Engineer to define and enforce policies across its multi‑cloud estate. This governance‑focused position will translate rules into code, monitor compliance, and work closely with Finance, Security, and Product teams. The role is hybrid, requiring three days a week on‑site in India.

Key responsibilities

• Define, document, and maintain cloud governance policies for GCP, AWS, and Azure, implementing them with Organization Policy, SCPs, Config, and Azure Policy.
• Own the end‑to‑end exception and waiver process, including intake, risk assessment, approval, and follow‑up.
• Partner with Security to enforce IAM and network security standards and ensure least‑privilege access.
• Build dashboards tracking security posture, credential rotation, policy violations, configuration drift, and remediation times.
• Manage resource labeling and tagging standards to enable accurate cost attribution.
• Drive cost governance through spend visibility, anomaly detection, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, DevOps, Cloud Architects, and Product Engineering to keep controls consistent across regions.

Required profile

• 4+ years in public cloud environments with at least 2 years hands‑on GCP experience.
• Proven experience implementing preventative guardrails (e.g., GCP Organization Policy, AWS SCPs, Azure Policy).
• Experience authoring cloud policies that other teams must follow.
• Ability to run or contribute to an exception/waiver process for cloud controls.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical risks to non‑technical stakeholders.
