Clinical Investigation Trainer

About the role

Optum is seeking a Trainer to deliver and facilitate new‑hire and ongoing training for its Clinical Investigation teams, including E&I, M&R, C&S, and FWAE areas. The role focuses on using innovative methods to improve knowledge retention and support the organization’s health‑optimization mission.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and facilitate new‑hire training for Clinical Investigation and related areas.
• Provide job‑specific training using approved curricula and innovative delivery methods.
• Conduct refresher training based on development needs.
• Measure and track pre‑ and post‑training performance and assessment scores.
• Organize, coordinate, and communicate training programs across the business.
• Partner with leadership to coach participants and give feedback to management and instructional design teams.
• Review and update training materials as required.

Required profile

• Graduate with a medical background (e.g., BHMS, BUMS, BPT, MPT, BDS, BAMS, Nursing).
• 2+ years experience as a Clinical Investigator or equivalent role.
• 2+ years experience in Clinical Investigation production for E&I/M&R/C&S FWAE.
• Certified in coding (CPC) with solid understanding of coding guidelines.
• Trained in Interventional Radiology (IVR) claims review and Pay with Precision (PWP).

Required skills

• Coding certification (CPC)
• Proficiency with CPA, FACET, UNET, and Cirrus applications
• PowerPoint content creation for training delivery
