Civil Lawyer

About the role

LawyerLinked is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Civil Lawyer to join its team in Kochi. The successful candidate will advise and represent clients across a broad spectrum of civil matters, including property disputes, contracts, consumer issues and family‑related cases. This role supports the company’s mission to connect people with the right legal support through technology and a curated network of professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client consultations to understand case facts and objectives.
• Draft, review and negotiate legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, notices and agreements.
• Develop case strategies and prepare filings for courts and tribunals.
• Appear before civil courts and tribunals to advocate for clients.
• Research statutes, case law and precedents to support litigation and advisory work.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, maintaining detailed case records.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in civil law with experience handling property, contract, consumer and family disputes.
• Proficiency in legal research, case analysis and interpretation of statutes and case law.
• Demonstrated ability to draft, review and negotiate legal documents.
• Experience representing clients in civil courts and tribunals with solid advocacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; knowledge of local languages used in Kochi is a plus.
• LL.B. or equivalent degree and enrollment as an advocate with the appropriate Bar Council; prior experience in a law firm or legal department is preferred.
