Civil Engineer – Bar Bending Schedule Specialist

About the role

Lakshmi Prasanna Constructions is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead the preparation and management of Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) across residential, villa, commercial and infrastructure projects. The role involves close coordination with site engineers, contractors and steel vendors to ensure reinforcement work meets structural drawings, IS codes and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) based on approved structural drawings.
• Calculate reinforcement quantities for footings, columns, beams, slabs, staircases, retaining walls and other RCC elements.
• Review structural drawings, flag discrepancies and ensure compliance before execution.
• Coordinate reinforcement requirements with site engineers, contractors, steel vendors and project managers.
• Monitor cutting, bending and placement of reinforcement on site, minimizing material wastage.
• Prepare steel reconciliation reports, maintain reinforcement records and verify steel consumption.
• Support billing, quantity verification and measurement certification.
• Maintain daily progress reports, BBS documentation and conduct site inspections to verify execution against approved schedules.

Required profile

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in BBS preparation and RCC construction.
• Experience in villa construction is preferred.
• Based in Goa or willing to relocate.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) preparation.
• Expertise in RCC detailing and reinforcement calculations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced MS Excel for quantity calculations and reporting.
• Experience in quantity estimation and steel reconciliation.
• Good understanding of IS Codes related to reinforcement detailing.
