About the role
The Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) for India leads the local standardisation team, ensuring that all flight instructors meet Airbus training standards and regulatory requirements. This senior position combines instructional expertise, quality assurance, and operational support across the training centre.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the local standardisation team and guarantee competency compliance with Airbus Training standards.
- Act as standardisation trainer and evaluator, providing feedback and supporting continuous improvement of the Airbus Flight Crew Training Operations Manual (A60.4).
- Report to the Worldwide ATO CFI, participate in global and regional workshops, and disseminate relevant information to instructors.
- Organise and run local Notice Observations (NO) and No Notice Observations (NNO) and contribute to the Advanced Flight Instructor Standardisation Council.
- Support other training centres, provide monthly feedback for the Worldwide ATO List of Instructors, and assist in recurrent training and checking programmes.
- Maintain personal proficiency as a Type III instructor and examiner, dedicating at least 10% of time to flying activities and simulator instruction.
Required profile
- Valid EASA licence with Airbus FBW type rating (A320/A330/A350) and TRL/r and LIFUS approval.
- Class 1 medical certificate without restrictions.
- Fluent English communication.
- Low Visibility Operations (LVO) and ETOPS qualifications.
- Minimum 5 000 total flight hours, including 3 000 on large jet aircraft (>50 t MTOW), 1 000 hours as Captain on Airbus types, and 500 hours as an instructor in a Full‑Flight Simulator.
- At least 500 hours as Captain conducting Line Flying Under Supervision (LIFUS/IOE).
