Chef – Desserts & Café Kitchen

About the role

Frappe & Yap Cafe is looking for a skilled Chef to lead the preparation and plating of desserts, beverages, and café‑style dishes. You will work in a vibrant, guest‑focused environment, ensuring every plate meets the cafe’s high standards for taste, presentation, and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and plate a variety of desserts, pastries, and hot/cold beverages according to established recipes.
• Organise the kitchen workflow, manage ingredient inventory, and maintain stock levels.
• Ensure timely preparation of orders during peak service periods.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen in line with food‑safety regulations.
• Collaborate with front‑of‑house staff to deliver a seamless guest experience.
• Contribute ideas for new menu items and seasonal specials.

Required profile

• Professional experience as a chef, pastry chef, or cook in a café, bakery, or restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of dessert preparation, baking techniques, and beverage preparation.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, handle multiple orders, and maintain consistent quality.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
