Cashier (Retail)

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site Cashier position is based in Kaithal and supports the daily operations of a jewellery retail store. The role involves handling customer billing, processing cash, card and digital payments, issuing invoices and maintaining accurate transaction records.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system and balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
• Process cash, card and digital payments, issue invoices and ensure proper documentation of sales.
• Assist customers at the billing counter, respond to basic inquiries and coordinate with the sales team on orders and refunds.
• Follow store policies related to security, cash handling and compliance.

Required profile

• Strong numerical, cash‑handling and basic accounting skills.
• Proficiency with POS systems, billing software and basic computer applications.
• Clear communication, customer‑focused attitude and attention to detail.
• Integrity, reliability and ability to handle confidential financial information.
• Previous retail or cashier experience preferred; familiarity with jewellery or luxury retail is an advantage.
• Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent; higher qualifications in commerce or business are a plus.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
