Cashier - Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role involves accurate processing of deposits, withdrawals, and loan repayments while providing courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain appropriate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash, assets register and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, end‑of‑day reconciliation and report in the Branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑sell opportunities and educate them on new products and alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to transaction turnaround times, regulatory compliance and bank policies.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to address queries and grievances promptly.
• Ability to follow banking procedures, compliance standards and internal controls.
• Good communication skills for educating customers and promoting bank services.
