Cashier – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the efficient functioning of the branch by handling cash, cheques, drafts, and other instruments while delivering courteous customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders, and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash register, and assets register; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and report in the Branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer and Assistant Branch Manager.
• Interact with customers during transactions, identify cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to transaction turnaround times and compliance with bank policies and regulations.
• Validate customer authenticity for cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.
