Cashier – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cashier will manage all cash‑related transactions at branch locations, ensuring compliance with banking guidelines and accurate record‑keeping. This full‑time position supports the Branch Operations Officer in delivering efficient cash services to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash transactions including receipt and disbursement of cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and cash withdrawals within authorized limits.
• Maintain and update inward/outward cash registers, petty‑cash and asset registers, and prepare requisition forms for the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, reconcile end‑of‑day balances, and generate the Branch End‑of‑Day report.
• Manage the branch vault and cash custody jointly with the Assistant Branch Manager, ensuring security of cash, keys and valuables.
• Assist customers with deposits, withdrawals and loan repayments, providing clear explanations of repayment schedules and promoting cross‑sell opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal policies, including transaction turnaround times and audit requirements.
• Educate customers on alternative channels for transactions and handle escalations of queries or grievances.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
• Experience in cash handling or banking operations is desirable.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to interact courteously with customers and work collaboratively with branch staff.
• Understanding of banking regulations and internal control procedures.
