Cashier – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch’s cash handling function and delivers high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, end‑of‑day reconciliation and report in the Branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to transaction turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and bank policies.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to handle inquiries courteously.
• Attention to detail for accurate cash handling and record‑keeping.
• Ability to follow banking regulations and internal procedures.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and escalating issues.
