Cashier – Multiple Locations (Branch Banking)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch by handling cash, processing instruments, and providing courteous customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash register, and assets register; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, reconcile transactions, and prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer and Assistant Branch Manager.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and bank policies for all cashier operations.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to handle cash responsibly.
• Understanding of banking procedures and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with branch staff and senior officers.
