Cashier – Full-time Branch Banking

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch’s cash handling function and delivers superior customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash, and assets registers; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy.

Required profile

• Full‑time availability for branch operations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Operations Officer and Assistant Branch Manager.
• Understanding of banking guidelines and regulatory compliance.
