Cashier – Branch Banking (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role includes accurate processing of cheques, drafts, cash deposits and withdrawals, as well as end‑of‑day reconciliation.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash against deposit challans.
• Maintain inward and outward cash registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and ensure accurate entries in the banking system.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during transactions, explain repayment schedules, and promote bank products and services.
• Educate customers on alternative channels for deposits, withdrawals and inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
