Cashier – Branch Banking

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the Branch Operation Officer in maintaining accurate cash registers, performing end‑of‑day reconciliations, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, providing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposits, maintaining accurate system entries.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and update relevant registers.
• Maintain inward/outward, petty cash and assets registers; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare End‑of‑Day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on new products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with turnaround times, bank policies, and regulatory requirements for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy.

• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work under defined turnaround times and adhere to compliance standards.
• Team player who can coordinate with the Branch Operation Officer and Assistant Branch Manager.
