Cashier – Branch Banking

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch by handling cash, cheques, drafts, and other instruments while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and similar instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, and assets register; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, reconcile end‑of‑day reports, and ensure accurate vault operations jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, address queries, cross‑sell products, and educate them on alternative banking channels.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.
