Cashier – Branch Banking (Full‑time)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role ensures accurate end‑of‑day reconciliation, maintains cash registers, and supports the overall efficiency of the branch.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, providing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans, updating the system accordingly.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and forward requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, identify cross‑sell opportunities, and educate them on alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with turnaround times, banking regulations, and internal policies for all cashier operations.

Required profile

• Graduation (any stream), preferably Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions.
• Familiarity with financial modules/ERP for entry and consolidation of accounting data.
• Ability to detect counterfeit notes and verify customer authenticity during withdrawals.

Required skills

• Cash handling and accounting skills.
• Experience with ERP or financial accounting software.
• Proficient computer operation and basic software usage.
• Strong numerical and multitasking abilities.
