Cashier – Branch Banking (Full‑time)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This includes maintaining accurate registers, performing end‑of‑day reconciliations and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, providing acknowledgements and disbursing cash up to authorized limits.
• Collect repayments as per EMI schedules, maintain system entries, and manage inward/outward, petty‑cash and assets registers.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and jointly manage the branch vault with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, promote cross‑selling opportunities and educate them on alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory compliance and bank policies for all cashier operations.

Required profile

• Graduation in any discipline, preferably Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions.
• Familiarity with financial modules/ERP for entry and consolidation of accounting data.
• Ability to detect counterfeit notes and verify customer authenticity.
