Cashier – Branch Banking (Full‑time)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role includes maintaining accurate registers, performing end‑of‑day reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, disburse cash for withdrawals and collect cash for deposits.
• Maintain inward and outward cash registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and submit requisition forms to the regional head office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, explain repayment schedules, promote bank products, and educate on alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to transaction turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and internal audit standards.

Required profile

• Graduation (any discipline), preferably Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions in a banking or financial environment.
• Familiarity with financial modules/ERP for entry and consolidation of accounting data.

Required skills

• Cash handling and accounting skills.
• Computer operations and basic software proficiency (training provided).
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
