Cashier – Branch Banking (Full‑time)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time role supports the smooth functioning of the branch by handling cash, maintaining registers, and providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and update system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and forward requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, reconcile transactions, and prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash department with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, identify cross‑selling opportunities and inform them about new products.
• Provide courteous customer service, resolve queries, and educate customers on alternate banking channels.
• Count and verify cash at the start and end of the day, ensuring safe custody of cash, keys and valuables.
• Adhere to defined turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies for all cashier operations.

• Willingness to escalate customer queries and grievances promptly.
• Capability to educate customers on alternative banking channels and repayment schedules.
