Cargo Operations Agent – Chennai

About the role

We are looking for a Cargo Operations Agent to join our team in Chennai. The role involves coordinating import and export cargo activities, working closely with ground handling agents and the head office cargo department to ensure smooth operations and meet cargo targets.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with local Ground Handling Agents (GHA) and head‑office cargo teams to deliver high‑quality import and export services.
• Assist import customers with customs clearance, coordinating with customs authorities and origin stations.
• Plan flights to maximise cargo capacity, control export and import operations, and ensure timely shipment delivery.
• Coordinate with Revenue Management to prioritize shipments and optimise aircraft space utilisation.
• Handle cargo claims, discrepancies and administrative issues in collaboration with the Cargo Claims Supervisor.
• Maintain strict control of ULD stock and cargo stationery in partnership with the GHA.
• Disseminate cargo‑related information to customers and ensure compliance with customs, governmental and health regulations.
• Prepare regular service reports and update accounting systems for each flight departure.

Required profile

• High school qualification with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Computer literate with good communication skills.
• Knowledge of cargo sales and TATA/TACT regulations is an advantage.
• Strong command of English.
• Legal right to reside and work in India.
