Care Buddy – Senior Support Role

About the role

The Care Buddy is the first point of contact and the friendly face of Prayojana, providing compassionate, day‑to‑day support to senior members. Acting like a trusted family member, the Care Buddy ensures wellbeing, assists with errands, and helps seniors stay connected and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Check on assigned members daily for wellbeing and address any immediate needs.
• Assist with errands such as bank work, grocery or vegetable procurement.
• Schedule and accompany members to doctor appointments and laboratory visits.
• Help members resolve technology issues, including setting up WhatsApp, internet, and social media accounts.
• Visit members at least once a week, providing companionship and monitoring health status.
• Educate members on emergency procedures and coordinate care during urgent situations.
• Update medical records in the Prayojana Health App and monitor medication inventory.
• Accompany members to social events, concerts, or family functions and arrange transportation and tickets as needed.

Required profile

• High level of integrity, trustworthiness and 24/7 availability for emergency calls.
• Strong empathy, patience, punctuality and commitment to seniors’ comfort.
• Basic computer and internet knowledge; comfortable using web and mobile applications.
• Own a personal two‑wheeler (bike or scooter) for local travel.
• Willingness to be assigned up to ten members simultaneously.
• Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (nice to have).
