Care Buddy – Senior Support Companion

About the role

The Care Buddy is the primary point of contact and friendly face for members of Prayojana, providing empathetic, day‑to‑day support similar to that of a family member. The role combines personal assistance, technology help, and companionship to ensure seniors live comfortably and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Check on members daily for well‑being and address their immediate needs.
• Assist with errands such as banking, grocery shopping, and vegetable procurement.
• Schedule and accompany members to doctor appointments and laboratory visits.
• Provide technology support, including setting up WhatsApp, fixing internet issues, and teaching social‑media use.
• Visit members at least once a week, educate them on emergency procedures, and coordinate care during emergencies.
• Update medical records in the Prayojana Health App and monitor medication inventory.
• Offer companionship by walking with members weekly and accompanying them to social events.
• Arrange tickets and transportation for concerts, movies, family functions, and other activities.

Required profile

• High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and 24/7 availability for emergency calls.
• Strong empathy, patience, punctuality, and commitment to seniors’ comfort.
• Independent, soft‑spoken, and willing to go the extra mile for members.
• Experience using web and mobile applications with basic computer and internet knowledge.
• Own a personal two‑wheeler (bike or scooter) for travel.
• Preferably holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (nice to have).
