Care Buddy – Senior Support Companion

About the role

The Care Buddy is the primary point of contact and friendly face for Prayojana members. You will support seniors in their daily lives with empathy, warmth and practical assistance, acting like a trusted family member.

Key responsibilities

• Check on assigned members daily to monitor well‑being and address immediate needs.
• Assist with errands such as banking, grocery shopping, and vegetable procurement.
• Schedule and accompany members to doctor appointments and laboratory visits.
• Help resolve technology issues, including setting up WhatsApp, fixing internet connections, and guiding use of social media platforms.
• Visit members at least once a week, provide companionship, and accompany them on walks or social events.
• Educate members on emergency procedures and coordinate with hospitals during crises.
• Maintain up‑to‑date medical records in the Prayojana Health App and monitor medication inventories.
• Organise tickets and transportation for concerts, movies, family functions, and other events.

Required profile

• High level of integrity, trustworthiness and 24/7 availability for emergency calls.
• Strong empathy, patience, punctuality and commitment to seniors’ comfort.
• Basic computer and internet proficiency with experience using web and mobile applications.
• Own a personal two‑wheeler (bike or scooter) for local travel.
• Preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (optional).

• Facebook and Instagram navigation.
• Basic computer operations and internet browsing.
