Care Buddy – Senior Support & Companion

About the role

The Care Buddy is the first point of contact and the friendly face of Prayojana for senior members. They provide empathetic, day‑to‑day assistance, ensuring members feel safe, supported, and socially connected.

Key responsibilities

• Check on assigned members daily for well‑being and emotional support.
• Assist with errands such as banking, grocery, and vegetable procurement.
• Schedule doctor appointments, accompany members, and arrange periodic lab visits.
• Help resolve technology issues, including setting up WhatsApp, internet, and social media platforms.
• Visit members at least once a week, assess needs, and provide timely help.
• Educate members on emergency procedures and coordinate with hospitals when needed.
• Update medical records in the Prayojana Health App and monitor medication inventory.
• Accompany members on walks, social events, concerts, and arrange transportation.
• Organise tickets for movies, concerts, or drama performances as requested.

Required profile

• High integrity, trustworthiness, and 24/7 availability for emergency calls.
• Strong empathy, patience, politeness, punctuality, and commitment to follow‑through.
• Willingness to go the extra mile to keep seniors comfortable and worry‑free.
• Independent, reliable, and able to manage up to ten members simultaneously.

Required skills

• Basic computer and internet knowledge.
• Experience using web‑based and mobile applications.
