Care Buddy – Senior Support Companion

About the role

The Care Buddy is the first point of contact and the face of Prayojana, providing empathetic support to assigned senior members as if they were family. The role involves daily wellbeing checks, assistance with errands, appointment coordination, technology help, and companionship.

Key responsibilities

• Check on members' day‑to‑day wellbeing.
• Help with errands such as bank work, grocery or vegetable procurement.
• Schedule doctor appointments and accompany members to visits.
• Arrange and attend periodic lab visits as required.
• Assist members with technology issues, including setting up WhatsApp, fixing internet problems, and using social media platforms.
• Visit members at least once a week or as needed to assess their needs.
• Educate members on emergency procedures and coordinate emergency reporting to hospitals.
• Update medical records in the Prayojana Health App.
• Monitor medicine inventory and help order refills.
• Provide companionship, such as weekly walks, and accompany members to social events, concerts, or family functions.
• Organise tickets and arrange transportation for events and outings.

Required profile

• High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
• Independent and willing to be available for 24 × 7 emergency calls.
• Demonstrates empathy, patience, politeness, punctuality, and commitment.
• Willing to go the extra mile to keep seniors happy and comfortable.
• Basic computer and internet knowledge with experience using web and mobile applications.
• Owns a personal two‑wheeler (bike or scooter).
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work is a plus.
