Care Buddy – Senior Support Companion

About the role

The Care Buddy is the primary point of contact and friendly face for seniors supported by Prayojana. You will provide compassionate, day‑to‑day assistance, ensuring members feel safe, cared for, and connected.

Key responsibilities

• Check on assigned members daily to monitor well‑being.
• Assist with errands such as banking, grocery shopping, and vegetable procurement.
• Schedule and accompany members to doctor appointments and lab visits.
• Help resolve technology issues, including setting up WhatsApp, internet, and social media accounts.
• Visit members at least once a week, or more frequently as needed.
• Educate members on emergency procedures and coordinate care during emergencies.
• Update medical records in the Prayojana Health App and monitor medication inventory.
• Provide companionship, accompany walks, and attend social events or concerts.
• Arrange tickets and transportation for events, family functions, or outings.
• Maintain communication with all stakeholders regarding member status.

Required profile

• High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and reliability.
• Willingness to be on‑call 24/7 for emergency situations.
• Strong empathy, patience, punctuality, and commitment to seniors’ comfort.
• Independent, proactive, and ready to go the extra mile.
• Experience using web and mobile applications with basic computer and internet knowledge.
• Own a personal two‑wheeler (bike or scooter) for local travel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work is a plus.
