Care Buddy – Senior Support & Companion

About the role

The Care Buddy is the first point of contact and the friendly face of Prayojana, providing compassionate, day‑to‑day support for senior members. You will act as a trusted companion, helping seniors manage daily tasks, health appointments, and technology needs with empathy and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Check on members’ well‑being and visit at least once a week.
• Assist with errands such as banking, grocery, and vegetable procurement.
• Schedule doctor appointments, accompany members, and arrange lab visits.
• Help members with technology issues – setting up WhatsApp, fixing internet problems, and using Facebook or Instagram.
• Educate members on emergency procedures and coordinate emergency response.
• Update medical records in the Prayojana Health App and monitor medication inventory.
• Provide companionship – accompany walks, social events, and arrange tickets or transportation.
• Manage a maximum of 10 members simultaneously.

Required profile

• High integrity, trustworthiness and willingness to be on‑call 24/7 for emergencies.
• Strong empathy, patience, politeness, punctuality and commitment‑oriented.
• Independent, proactive and ready to go the extra mile for seniors.
• Own a personal two‑wheeler (bike/scooter) for transportation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic computer and internet knowledge.
• Experience using web and mobile applications.
• Proficiency with WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram.
• Ability to troubleshoot internet connectivity issues.
