Care Buddy – Senior Companion & Support Role

About the role

The Care Buddy is the primary point of contact and friendly face for seniors enrolled with Prayojana. You will provide compassionate, day‑to‑day assistance that feels as warm and supportive as a family member’s care.

Key responsibilities

• Check on assigned members daily to monitor their well‑being.
• Assist with errands such as banking, grocery or vegetable procurement.
• Schedule doctor appointments, accompany members to visits and arrange periodic lab tests.
• Help resolve technology issues, including setting up WhatsApp, internet troubleshooting and social‑media use.
• Visit members at least once a week, or more frequently as needed, to assess and address their needs.
• Educate members on emergency procedures and coordinate with hospitals during crises.
• Update medical records in the Prayojana Health App and monitor medication inventories.
• Provide companionship – accompany members on walks, social events, concerts or family functions.
• Organise tickets and transportation for events and outings.

Required profile

• High level of integrity, trustworthiness and reliability.
• Willingness to be on‑call 24/7 for emergencies.
• Strong empathy, patience, punctuality and commitment to seniors’ comfort.
• Independent, proactive and able to go the extra mile.
• Possession of a personal two‑wheeler (bike or scooter) for transportation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic computer and internet proficiency, including use of web and mobile applications.
