Buyer – Procurement Specialist (B3)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Buyer (B3) to manage the procurement of materials, supplies, machinery and services for its state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities in Bangalore. The role involves collaborating across engineering, manufacturing and program teams to ensure uninterrupted supply and drive cost‑effective purchasing.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Execute and manage pull‑ins/push‑outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing, program managers and supplier account management.
• Drive purchasing activities to achieve the lowest total cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Lead inventory and excess & obsolescence (E&Z) reduction initiatives.
• Manage assigned purchasing projects, overseeing cost, schedule and scope.
• Handle complex and sensitive information with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvements and act as a trainer for department purchasing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2–4 years of procurement or supply‑chain experience.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices, key business drivers and marketplace competition.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to lead small projects and build consensus.
