Buyer / Planner

About the role

Hubbell is seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner to convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders, monitor order status, and support the manufacturing supply chain. The role involves close collaboration with inventory, production, and vendor teams to ensure timely material availability.

Key responsibilities

• Review demand forecasts and open purchase requisitions, converting them into purchase orders for essential materials.
• Create and maintain purchase order tracking systems and generate weekly status reports for management.
• Coordinate with inventory management to balance stock levels, push out and pull in orders as needed.
• Handle order placement, confirmation, expediting, and receipt processing to meet production schedules.
• Monitor vendor performance, negotiate terms, and resolve pricing disputes.
• Develop risk‑mitigation strategies for the supply chain and ensure proper material storage with warehouse staff.
• Analyze lot sizes, lead times, and replenishment strategies to optimize inventory investment and customer service.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing procurement or supply chain planning.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
